"Taking Care of the Community -
One Patient at a Time"
For over 69 years, Holy Cross Hospital has remained committed to providing our community with the most progressive health care available. Our newly completed construction proves this in 14 million ways.
Today, the people of Taos County and surrounding areas have a hospital that matches the exceptional quality of Holy Cross' physicians and staff. With our expanded range of medical services, we've evolved from our modest beginning as a tiny, 10-bed community hospital to a 47-bed regional hospital that has become a rural health care model for the nation. Expansion is now behind us.
Included in our new and improved 89,000 square foot building are 4 modern, digital surgical suites; a private, family-oriented birthing center; radiology and imaging services utilizing the latest diagnostic technology; a full-service clinical laboratory; rehabilitation facilities for physical, occupational, and speech therapy; an intensive care unit with a four bed progressive care unit; and a high-tech, 24-hour emergency room with all board certified ER physicians.
Currently, we boast more than 70 physicians on active or consulting status with Holy Cross Hospital. Together, they represent a broad range of specialties. We have about 50 physicians in town who are on our active staff.
Our emphasis on prevention means we will continue to offer educational outreach programs to promote wellness among the citizens of Taos and neighboring counties. Our outpatient diabetes, smoking cessation, and annual health fair are renowned.
Holy Cross Hospital fully understands the value of medical technology. In fact, our hospital houses some of the most advanced equipment in northern New Mexico. Technology is vitally important to enhancing the level and quality of care we are able to provide. For example, sophisticated patient records technology in our new information technology system greatly streamlines admissions. We're proud of our technology, but we're equally proud of the fact that we dispense our modern medicine with a healthy dose of good old-fashioned human compassion. Our staff is committed to a personalized, caring approach to each of our clients, individually. Holy Cross Hospital is proud to be home to the finest and best organized volunteer auxiliary in the state. The Auxiliary owns and manages a first class gift shop in the main hospital; supports a quarterly blood drive; hosts numerous fund raising events annually; and are some of the kindest people on the planet.
Please join our team as a medical professional, a volunteer, or as one of our valued patient customers.
I hope you enjoy our website.
